News Post: Anne Frank Youth Network (Re)Act International Youth Forum 2024
07. 08. 2024
From July 24-30, 2024, our Anne Frank Youth Network (AFYN) members had the incredible opportunity to attend the AFYN (Re)Act International Youth Forum in Amsterdam and Arnheim, Netherlands. Organized by the Anne Frank Stichting, this event brought together young people from around the world to engage in meaningful workshops and debates.
Thomas Elmecker, the AFYN coordinator for the Czech Republic from the Terezín Initiative Institute, led the Czech delegation. The forum was generously funded by the European Union, Kryzowa Kreisau, Hermes, and the Anne Frank House.
Three alumni from the Czech Republic, Ani, Toni, and Kája, attended the forum. Here’s what they had to say about their experience:
“Together with our Czech delegation, I had the honor of participating in a session in Holland led by the great AFYN team. I was very happy when I was confirmed to participate in this special event. The whole program was very busy and everyone could find something for themselves. It was composed of workshops and debates. At the same time, there was also time to unwind, such as a silent disco or a nice pizza evening. A lot of interesting personalities were invited who were a source of inspiration for all of us. The first half of the event was in Arnhem and the rest in Amsterdam, the beautiful cities of Holland. The participation of other students from different parts of the world made this event even more special. The program was designed so that we could get to know each other better and share our experiences. I loved the incredible diversity of our community. I appreciate the entire AFYN team and everyone who contributed to this event. It was a beautiful but challenging experience for me. Thank you for it.”
